Wayne and Marylee realised the necessity for an Online Store during the Farmers’ Market closures of 2020/2021, selling everyone’s favorite Klein Karoo treats.

Both coming from a commercial background with sound business practice skills, they created what we know as “I Love Hott” Chilli Sauce, before re-branding in 2021.

With re-branding comes new challenges, new ideas and the opportunity to rethink how to help the community reach marketing goals to achieve success.

The success cannot be claimed by by a single brand or individual, but rather by the community of the Klein Karoo.  We partnered with many vendors and intend further collaborations in the future to make this a true delight for shoppers to find exactly what you like or even great gifting ideas.  We are sure we have something for everyone, if not now, for sure very shortly.

Taste Klein Karoo headquarters are situated approximately 20km outside the picturesque town of Montagu on a farm in the Talana Valley.  Montaqu is a town in the Western Cape Province of South Africa, about 180km from Cape Town in the Western Klein Karoo Montagu, South Africa

Famous for the quality of its apples, pears, apricots and peaches, nearby rock formations and our delightful Saturday Montagu Village Market.  Montagu is near the Robertson Wine Valley, and is most easily reached via the Route 62 scenic route.

Our shop boasts with some of the best quality preserves, which was mastered by the residents of the area.  We have the pleasure of having the oldest and most traditional recipes in the country made by the legendary “Jam Ladies”, producing goodies for over 20 years.  Some of them started their journey on the farms in the area as temporary workers, but now with your support and a new Online Platform to sell these products, more can have permanent employment.
